Why I’m Running.

I believe we in Yavapai county can do better for our children.  Our children deserve the right to be well educated.  Arizona K-12 education is ranked 48th in educating our youth in the United States [1] and 47th in the amount spent on each student[2].  Although I do not believe there is a 100% correlation between money spent and a good education, I would like to increase teacher pay to attract and keep great teachers to give our students the best opportunities to succeed.

Fiscal transparency is necessary to clearly show constituents how their tax monies are being spent.   Motivate parents and community members to get involved in their local schools by volunteering in classrooms, monitoring school boards, and taking back control of what is taught in their schools.

The future is in the hands of our children. I would like to go back to ‘teaching’ our next generation instead of ‘facilitating their discovery’ of what we have already discovered.  Teach children to be curious, to take what we have already discovered as a society and discover new things, new innovations, new technological advances in whatever fields they desire.  Their generation will be tasked to pay our national debt, continue protecting our precious earth, and keep our country strong.

I believe that we can educate all of Yavapai’s children making them integral parts of our local and state economy’s going forward.  We need to bring back the basics of education; math, science, reading, writing, fact-based history, and civics.  Remove CRT, DEI, SEL and the 1619 Project from our K-12 curriculum.

Bring the values our country was founded on back to the classroom.  Promote a love of this great nation. Inspire students to strive for academic excellence, appreciate and understand the importance of education and become better citizens. Elevate the career of teaching; hire and retain great teachers willing to promote a love of country and our state’s conservative values.

Use biological gender in schools K-12.
